Setting up the Roper CoolSNAP at Sector 7

The pointers below are shown to help with setting up the Roper CoolSNAP CF at APS Sector 7. This page is only available on the APS and ANL network.

Here is some C routines to read the EPICS CCD Server's tiff files. Some simple processing tools are also available.

An examples of PV's accessible from EPICS (local APS access only).
This file can be saved into your home directory on our Solaris computers and run with
csh as a script. It will output the various values of the PV included.

I have recently written MEDM screens that can control and monitor the camera server remotely.
The screens are on our server bantu in /controls/common/EDtools/CCDserver.
Here are the three screens in question: (local APS/ANL access)
These screens can be useful, to monitor a ROI average, or to remove the Focus
Mode when the system in overtaken by the camera server and doesn't respond to
the mouse.

An examples of how to set up the scan record to trigger the CCD camera (local APS access only)..
Note that the prefix for the camera has changed and instead of "7ID:ccd",
the new prefix is "S7:ccd1". The detector trigger should be S7:ccd1.AcquireCLBK
and its value is 1 for triggering the detector. Note that the positioner
here was the CCD exposure time (S7:ccd1.Milliseconds)!

To sum several images to increase the dynamic range, one can use the 
Integrating ROI. To set this up, first set the ROI type to "Integrating",
then select the ROI tab and click the "Display ROI Parameters" button. Then 
change the number of frame to integrate (see this screen to see the ROI 
Parameters. When saving images into TIFF format, the data remain saved in a
2 byte (16 bit) TIFF data format and the sum of N images is saved in the tiff 
file. I have only tested this with the CoolSNAP camera in TIFF mode.
